The compare selects three guests from a willing audience to be judge for the evening by presenting them with a huge frog (not a real one, of course, but a cardboard cut-out) and if they think that the comedian has had his chance and blown it, they raise the frog up in the air. If this occurs after less than five minutes, they are forced to leave the stage. If it doesn’t then the comedian has beaten the frog and earned himself some prestige.
